In Nigeria there is a manufacturing company that manufactures these fabrics, the name of the company is Sunflag. The company started its textile operations in Nigeria in the year 1961. It has world class manufacturing facilities and it is one of the largest textile companies in the whole of West Africa.  It is located in Iganmu Industrial Estates, Lagos.

Transportation
The transportation of Cargo relies mainly on road transport. This form of transportation tends to be more expensive and hampered by the bad quality of roads, it currently accounts for over 80% of all traffic intra and inter. There are sea ports that are used also for cargo the 2 main ports are located at Apapa, Lagos-The Lagos Port Complex and Tin Can Island Port Complex. • The kente fabric is a colorful cloth which plays an important role in the culture of Ghana. It was developed by the Ashanti people in the 17^th century. This fabric expresses the special value and ethics of the culture. It was worn by the Kings and Queens in the olden days.

The kente cloth is known as nwentoma (in Akan language) is woven by hand using a loom made out of wood. Various colors and qualities of yarn are used specifically silk yarn as it is considered very prestigious.

All relevant business information will have to be scanned and attached before submission of the application form through the web portal.

Filing pf the ASHI form and attaching relevant documents is considered complete by the Consignment Agent or forwarder who is already using similar system for shipments to other countries.

Rwanda

Rwanda

The fabric that is found in Rwanda is called the Kitenge fabric. This fabric is made in the Rwinkwavu village, in the Eastern province towards the frontier of Tanzania and Rwanda but it can also be found in the Eastern, Western and Central African Countries and it can be bought by villagers or tourists at the Kigali market in Rwanda.

The Kitenge fabric is made by imprinting a pattern of melted wax onto the fabric and then dying it, it can be used to make exclusive clothing, bedding spreads and bags. It is very similar to the sarong fabric which is used by women to wrap around their waist or chest, wear and use as headscarves. Other fabrics that are similar to the Kitenge are the Kangas and Kikoy fabrics, but they are thicker and have edges only on the long sides. 

The fabric costs 5 000 francs per 5 metre, which is quite expensive. It actually ranges from 5000 francs to 15 000 francs, which is R79,37 to R238,10 in the South African rand. The transport system that can be used to export the fabric to other countries is land, air and maritime, but land transport is much preferable.
